Belt repair strips are industrial products used for repairing longitudinal tears, localized damage, and cold vulcanization joint sealing in conveyor belts. Made from polyurethane rubber material, they feature a built-in pre-vulcanized layer and fabric layer structure, offering high tensile strength and strong wear resistance. The product allows for immediate repair and use, quickly completing the repair process by applying cold vulcanization adhesive. It is widely used in emergency repair and maintenance scenarios for conveyor systems in coal mines, power plants, and other industries.

Application Scope of Repair Strips

Primarily used to address three types of damage that occur during conveyor belt operation:

Longitudinal tear repair: Enhances tensile strength through the fabric layer of the patch;

Joint sealing treatment: Used for edge protection in cold vulcanization processes;

Localized damage repair: Fills surface defects such as scratches and wear;

Semi-vulcanized layer: Pre-installed at the bottom of the patch, capable of chemical cross-linking with cold vulcanization adhesive;

Fabric skeleton layer: Multi-layer polyester fiber woven structure providing longitudinal tear resistance;

Surface protective layer: Wear-resistant rubber covering layer with a thickness of 2.2-4.8mm;

Repair Process: 1. Surface treatment uses an angle grinder to polish the damaged area, removing aged rubber layers and impurities.

2.Cleaning step employs specialized cleaning agents to remove rubber debris and oil stains generated during polishing, ensuring the cleanliness of the bonding surface.

3.Bonding operation applies cold vulcanization adhesive twice, with the first coat drying until non-tacky before applying the second. Align the repair strip with the damaged area, press firmly, and use a compaction roller to eliminate air bubbles.

Belt Repair Strip Product Features: Tensile and wear-resistant, with a pre-vulcanized layer on the back (with CN layer or semi-vulcanized layer) and a fabric layer providing tensile strength, wear resistance, heat resistance, and flame resistance. The bonding surface can be coated with cold vulcanization adhesive for immediate repair and use. Suitable for repairing long-distance scratches, penetrations, and edge wear on belt conveyors, localized rubber layer damage repair, and sealing of cold seamless lap joints on belts.

Rubber Repair Seal Strip Localized Damage Repair Method:

1. Conveyor belt wound grinding: First, mark the outline of the wound (larger than the damaged area), then use a professional angle grinder with a moderately abrasive tungsten steel grinding disc to polish the wound area until the surface shows a certain curvature and no protrusions.

2. Apply adhesive: Clean the polished surface, then brush on the adhesive, allowing it to dry until slightly tacky but not adhering to the back of the finger. If the rubber damage in the wound area is too extensive, filling should be done first.

3. Apply the patch: Bond the patch to the wound area, avoiding trapping air during the bonding process. Then use a pressure roller to compact the patch from the inside out, ensuring it is firmly pressed and air bubbles are expelled.
